01 — The Studio
Black Loft.
We fold two things together with enough skill, and they don't just combine - they change. More volume, more lift, a texture neither one had on its own.
That's the studio. Classic production and AI, worked together until the line between them stops mattering. Not alternated, not stacked - whipped into one result. But that only works if the hand doing the folding knows what it's doing.
Before anything is generated, it's seen. Watching how light lands on a surface, how a shadow decides whether something feels real - that's the part no prompt can shortcut, and the part that matters most. Most AI imagery fails for the same reason: nobody in the room has ever lit a set. More than 15 years behind the lens, on set, is where that eye was trained - and it's what AI got folded into, not the other way round.
AI didn't replace that eye. It just widened the room it works in - a tool for reaching further, not a shortcut for seeing less.
What matters is whether it feels true - not whether it was shot or built. Some days that means a real set. Other days it means starting from nothing and shaping it until it holds. We don't choose the method first. We look at what the work is trying to become - then decide whether it's shot, generated, or something caught in between.
